Little Sunday Funday at Gordy's
Even the threatening thunderstorm forecast couldn’t keep Gordy’s customers away from the lakefront this Sunday. And their bravery was rewarded because the sky refused to release even a drop during the day. Instead, the hot, humid day persisted, with not even the frequent breeze causing a drop in the temperature. Luckily for patrons, there were plenty of ways to enjoy the outdoors in the comfort of the shade at Gordy’s. The Shore Shack propped up their sturdy batch of umbrellas, ready for the crowds of parched and famished customers seeking refuge from the sun. All day, tables were dotted with red Gordy’s cups and scored with soon to be polished-off plates of tacos, burgers, and wings. The inside of the Boat House was greeted by an influx of customers looking for a rest stop where they could soak in the revitalizing effects of full-blast AC. One of the more popular oases to be found at Gordy’s is the row of red Adirondacks lining the front of the Boat House. Protected by a red awning, this is one of the hot spots for customers enjoying drinks, food, and arguably one of the best views of the lakefront. You have a front row seat of the lake and a great opportunity to people-watch weekenders traversing the well-trodden Forklift Crossing. Sunday also featured the band Sweetland, a dynamic duo of guitar players strumming some relaxing, mellow covers of “These Boots Are Made For Walkin’” and “Strawberry Wine”.
Accompanying the Gordy’s big chair out by the lakefront this weekend was a gleaming Malibu boat. It’s been a huge hit among customers and passerby, the vessel’s sleek white exterior luring people in while it’s plush interior and shining features kept them coming back for another peek. The parents enjoyed the state of the art towboat as much as the kids, who no doubt perceived it as the best jungle gym of all time. Gordy’s boat salesmen were working hard this weekend, keeping up with leads and responses encouraged by the alternative showroom experience. As one added benefit, they got to create an office space outside, leading interested customers back out to the boat to sit down and discuss the many aspects and nuances that come with trying to find the right fit. Not bad ambience for a work environment.
At Gordy’s, Sunday certainly lives up to its name as the day of rest. A warm day, cool drinks, tuneful music, and a lake view like no other is guaranteed to solve all your problems and deliver on a truly enjoyable day.
