One Bite w/ the Gordy’s Crew- Gordy Girl’s Veggie Wrap

Summer time up in Lake Geneva means taking advantage of the shimmering water, warm weather, and fresh vegetables. From scrumptious salads to hearty sandwiches and wraps, Gordy’s Boat House has plenty of options on the menu that both incorporate veggies and showcase them as the main event. Today we’re diving in to the Gordy Girl’s Veggie Wrap, an entree that’s sure to delight even the most devout carnivores.

Nestled within the Gordy Girl’s Veggie Wrap is a few substantial servings of delicious vegetables. For vegetarians, hungry humans attempting to eat healthier, parents trying to get their kids to eat vegetables, and those of us that just enjoy the fresh taste of grilled green goodness, the Gordy Girl’s Veggie Wrap is calling. Besides fresh produce, this wrap also features Mozzarella cheese melted on to the mix of vegetables, with a sacredly soft and savory tomato basil flour tortilla that brings it all together.

The wonderful thing about a wrap is that you can get so many flavors, textures, temperatures, and more in just one bite. Thus, the One Bite Crew was made for this kind of meal.

With that first bite, you’re immediately hit with the fruity taste of the roasted red pepper. Thick slices of grilled zucchini refuse to relent without a satisfying crunch. A smattering of onion enhances the overall flavor and pairs well with the hot portabella mushrooms. The melted mozzarella pulls it all together and the warm tomato basil tortilla adds some extra flair that you won’t get from a regular tortilla.

So, while it may not be your go-to cheeseburger, let us introduce you to a healthy version of delicious pizza. That’s right, folks. Allow the genius of Gordy’s to resound. The Gordy Girl’s Veggie Wrap is a veggie pizza in disguise! The tomato basil flour tortilla with the melted mozzarella is a wholesome version of everyone’s favorite: cheese pizza. No wonder this wrap tastes so good.

As you might guess, the dish was a hit with our professional tasters, myself included. Ben, one of our most experienced tasters, was rendered speechless far after the chewing ceased. He awarded it an 8.5 and I gave it a well-deserved 9.

If you’re on the hunt for more protein, you can add some sizzling chicken in to the mix! The wrap is also served up with the Boat House’s staple sides: a sour pickle, cup of coleslaw, and crunchy steak fries.

So do you have some epic lake plans slated for after your lunch or dinner? Perhaps a wake surfing excursion, tubing adventure, or maybe you’re just going to lay out on the beach. This wrap is lighter but filling, so rather than battle the lethargic effects of a heavy meal, you’re equipped with the energy you need to enjoy the rest of your day.

I have yet to find a place on the lake that serves up better wraps than Gordy’s. And, thanks to this veggie wrap, I don’t think I ever will.
