Ensure that everyone on the boat knows all safety procedures and best practices. Each person on the vessel should know how to swim, but it’s also a good idea to keep life jackets on, just in case anyone suddenly falls overboard. There should be a life jacket for everyone on the boat. 

Familiarize yourself with the locations of emergency equipment when you walk through the boat for the first time. Staying aware and using common sense can help prevent complications that can ruin your trip.
