In order to keep your ship in optimal condition it’s important that you clean and care for the interior. We’ve put together a few helpful cleaning tips for your boat’s most sensitive areas below. However, if you notice your ship is in need of some serious repairs feel free to visit a service center at one of our locations across Wisconsin and Illinois.

Your Deck

Your deck can build up a lot of grime and gunk over time which can be difficult to get rid of! To start we advise taking a watering hose (or power washer if you have one) and spraying down the entire deck. Be sure to give stuck-on substances an extra powerful spray to help remove them. Once the surface level dirt has been removed and your deck is nice and wet you’ll want to take a scrub brush and begin cleaning the deck with some boat soap. Once all the stains and grime have been removed you can spray the deck down once again and allow it to dry.

Hard Water Stains

If you’re not interested in purchasing a cleaner to remove harsh water stains you can make your own mixture with water and white vinegar. Once you’ve used the mixture be sure to rinse and dry any surfaces to keep them from smelling like vinegar. To remove the hard water stains all you need to do is spray the mixture or cleaner onto the surface and rub it with a soft cloth or paper towel.

Steel Implements

Stainless steel is a popular material for boats due to its resistance to rust and corrosion. There are likely quite a few steel implements on your boat and it’s important that you keep them clean and well-maintained. While it’s more difficult for rust to appear on marine-grade stainless steel it’s still possible. To avoid this simply take a wet rag covered in dish soap and give your steel a quick scrub. Afterward, you can wipe it down with a soft dry towel.
