If you’ve recently purchased your very first wake boat, we want to congratulate you! Wake boats are one of the most popular models on the market, and can provide hours of fun in the water for you and everyone you know. However, before you load everyone up into your boat and take off on the water, we want to encourage you to read through our article below. In it, we’ve listed a few important accessories you’ll need before you take your very first outing with your new wake boat.

Safety Gear

While wake surfing and watersports are fun for the whole family, you don’t want to forget to load up on all the necessary gear to ensure everybody's safety. Every passenger on your boat will need a personal flotation device or life vest, however, we recommend purchasing an extremely buoyant vest for your passengers who plan on participating in watersports. We also encourage you to buy a helmet for riders who plan on trying their hand at wake surfing, as well as a bright neon safety flag to alert other boaters to steer clear if your rider falls into the water.

Water Sport Gear

For your first trip with your new wake boat, you’ll likely want to try your hand at a wide variety of water sports. However, while wake boats can support wake surfing, skiing, and tubing, each activity will require you to purchase a variety of different equipment. Obviously, you’ll need a set of water skis, a wakeboard, or a tube to be pulled along in, but don’t forget to also purchase a helpful tow rope to attach at the back of your boat. Because waterports can kick up some impressive spray, we also recommend purchasing a helpful dry bag to keep important items and electronics in.
